What is a make me Santa AI photo?

A make me Santa AI photo is your own photo redrawn so you wear a full Christmas character costume, from Santa's red suit to a reindeer hood, while your face stays yours. This template needs one photo of one person and offers 8 characters, plus Surprise me.

A ten-photo grid of the same man: his original photo in a cream sweater, then as Santa, Mrs. Claus, an elf, a reindeer, a snowman, a gingerbread person, a nutcracker soldier, a Christmas tree and a surprise mail carrier in a blue snowflake coat

One upload

Try every character on the same photo

Pick a character and generate, then switch to the next one without uploading again. Each run is its own photo to download, so you can line up your Santa, elf and snowman versions and let the family pick a favorite.

Side by side: a man in a cream sweater in a bright loft, and the same man in the same pose wearing a red Santa suit, hat and white beard, with Christmas lights now around the window

Kept and changed

Only the outfit changes

Your face, age, skin tone, hairstyle, body shape, pose and framing stay as they are, and so does the room behind you, now with warm Christmas lights and a few festive touches. The costume is complete and fitted, so it reads as clothes you are wearing, not a sticker on top.

Only want a Santa hat?

Santa, elf, reindeer or snowman: what each costume includes

The four characters people ask for most, each worn by a grown-up and a child. The picker also has Mrs. Claus, a gingerbread person, a nutcracker soldier, a Christmas tree and Surprise me, which invents an original Christmas character to suit you.

A man and a girl side by side in matching red Santa suits; he has a neat white beard, she has none

Santa Claus

A red velvet suit with white fur trim, a black belt with a gold buckle and a Santa hat. Grown-ups also get a neat white beard that keeps the face recognizable; kids and babies get no beard.

A man and a girl dressed as Christmas elves in green velvet tunics, red-and-white striped stockings and pointed green hats

Christmas elf

Santa's helper, not a fantasy elf: a green velvet tunic with a red collar and tiny gold bells, red-and-white striped stockings, pointed ears and a pointed green hat.

A man and a girl in brown furry reindeer costumes with plush antlers

Reindeer

A cozy brown faux-fur hooded outfit with plush antlers and a small dark nose: the whole reindeer, where a filter would only add antlers.

A man and a girl in round white snowman costumes with black buttons, knitted scarves and small black hats

Snowman

A round white padded outfit with coal-black buttons, a knitted scarf and a small black hat.

How do you turn yourself into an elf or Santa?

All it takes is one photo of one person. Here is what that photo becomes, how to shoot it and the three steps.

  1. Example photo: a man on his own in a cream cable-knit sweater, framed from head to mid-thigh, in a bright white loft

    1 photoOne person

The person in this photo wears the costume you pick and keeps their own look, so choose a photo you already like of them.

    • On their own in the frame, from the waist up or head to toe
    • Babies work too: photograph them alone, in a high chair or on a blanket, not in someone's arms

Photo checklist

Works well

  • Smiling woman in a mustard sweater facing the camera on whiteFace clear and turned to the camera
  • Woman in a lilac jacket framed from head to thighs on whiteWaist up or head to toe, so the whole costume fits
  • Smiling young girl on her own on white, framed from the waist upA child or baby on their own

Avoid

  • Three friends squeezed into one selfie at a picnicTwo or more people in one photo
  • Close selfie of a woman showing only her faceFace-only selfies: the costume needs shoulders and a body
  • Man in sunglasses and a low cap with a hand over his mouthSunglasses, masks or a hand over the face
  • A person as a tiny figure on a distant hilltopToo far away, or under 512 px on the short side

Make me Santa: common questions

Is make me Santa AI free?+

It runs on credits: each costume photo costs 3 credits at 1K, 4 at 2K or 5 at 4K, and new accounts get 10 free credits at sign-up. The Generate button shows the exact price before anything runs.

Can I turn my baby or child into Santa or an elf?+

Yes, every character works on kids and babies. The template keeps their real age, build and natural face, adds no makeup and keeps the costume fully covered, so a baby in a Santa suit still looks like your baby.

Does the costume change my face?+

Yes. The template keeps your face, age, skin tone, hairstyle, pose and framing and only changes what you wear. Hoods, hats and Santa's beard cover part of the head, so a clear, front-facing photo matters more here than usual; the photo checklist above shows what works.

Does the Santa costume give women a beard?+

Yes. Santa adds a neat white beard to every grown-up, women included, drawn so the face stays visible; kids and babies never get one. For a red velvet look without a beard, pick Mrs. Claus: a red dress with white fur trim, a white ruffled apron, small round glasses and a soft red shawl.

Is this a Santa Claus filter?+

Not a live camera filter. A filter lays a hat or beard over your face in real time; this template redraws one photo so a whole costume fits your body and pose, and the elf and reindeer looks work the same way. If you only want a hat, antlers or elf ears on an otherwise unchanged photo, use the Add Santa Hat to Photo template.

Can I dress up as a Christmas movie character?+

No. Every costume is an original take on a folk Christmas figure, so characters from films, books, shows and ads are not offered; the reindeer, for example, is a plain reindeer. Surprise me also invents an original character rather than copying one.

Can I turn my costume photo into a video?+

Yes, two ways. Press Animate it under your result to send the photo to the Animate Christmas Photo template: a 5-second video for 60 credits by default. To watch yourself change into Santa, an elf or a snowman instead, the Santa Transformation template makes a 6-second video from one photo for 72 credits by default.

Can I use a group photo or a photo of my pet?+

No, this template dresses one person per photo. To put everyone in one Christmas picture use the AI Christmas Family Photo template, and for a cat or dog use the AI Christmas Pet Photo template.
