Yes, when you choose the transparent background: the file is a WebM (VP9) with a real alpha channel, not a black background. The result plays over a checkerboard so you can see the transparency before downloading. MP4 can't carry transparency, so a solid-color result is always a regular MP4.
WebM transparency is commonly supported in OBS, Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, and web video players. Support in desktop and mobile editors such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut varies by version and platform, and Safari may not show it, so test a short clip first. If the background shows up black, export on green or blue instead and key it out in your editor.
Soft edges such as hair are kept as partial transparency instead of a hard outline, so they usually blend well on a new background. The hardest cases are fine flyaway strands against a busy or bright background, fast hands with heavy motion blur and see-through materials; these can come out softer or waver slightly between frames. Even light and a contrasting background help most.
No. The subject is found in ordinary footage, so rooms, offices and streets all work. If you already film on a green screen, keep using it: a plain, evenly lit backdrop still gives the cleanest edges.
Yes. The original track is kept by default in both WebM and MP4 results. Switch off “Keep audio” before you run if you want a silent file.
A solid-color result is an MP4, so it plays almost anywhere and can go straight to the Video Upscaler or Video Extender, which a transparent WebM can't. Green or blue also keys cleanly in editors that don't read WebM transparency, and white or black works as a finished backdrop.
MP4 or MOV clips from 2 to 30 seconds, up to 50 MB, 60 fps and 3840 pixels on the long side. Split longer footage into shorter clips first. WebM files, including transparent results from this tool, can't be uploaded as a source.
