Turn a photo into a Christmas card with AI

An AI Christmas card generator with photo takes a picture you already have and returns the front of a finished Christmas card: the design is drawn around your photo and the greeting is lettered on, with no prompt to write.

Photo in, card out

Every face stays the one you photographed

The people and pets in your photo keep their faces, ages, skin tones, hair, expressions and poses, and a pet keeps its breed and markings. Nobody is added or left out: the frame, the decoration and the greeting are the only new parts.

Card front

A flat card front you can print or send

The result is the front of the card seen straight on, with all four edges in frame, so it can go to a photo-card printer or into a message as it is. It is a single image of the front; a folded card's inside comes from your print service.

7 card designs, each with its own greeting

Each design prints one greeting, and it is the only text on the card; names go on when you print or send it. Choose by who the card is for.

Two finished cards on a wooden table with pine and holly: a red Merry Christmas card with a family of four and a cream vintage postcard with a Bernese puppy

Merry Christmas

Classic red and vintage postcard

Classic red frames the photo in gold on deep red card, with holly in the corners and gold snowflakes; Vintage postcard puts it on cream paper inside a red-and-green 1950s border with holly and bows. Both print Merry Christmas, the traditional pick for grandparents, relatives and anyone who keeps every card on the fridge.

Two finished cards on white marble with eucalyptus: a white Merry & Bright card with a couple and a deep green Season's Greetings card with a woman's portrait

Merry & Bright · Season's Greetings

Modern minimal and gold elegant

Modern minimal leaves plenty of white space around the photo, with a thin gold frame and one evergreen sprig. Gold elegant is deep green with gold foil ornaments and serif lettering, a quieter choice for a single portrait, a couple or a card for clients.

Happy Holidays cards for everyone on your list

Watercolor wreath circles the photo with painted pine, berries and ribbon on cream paper; Snowy window frames it in a frosted window with snow on the sill and twinkling lights in the garland. Use them as an AI holiday card for friends and coworkers who celebrate differently, or whenever you want a softer greeting.

Merry Everything

A funny Christmas card with cartoon reindeer

Cartoon reindeer get tangled in colorful string lights all around the photo. It suits a goofy family shot or a pet with a big personality, and it is the card to send when you want people to laugh before they read anything.

How do you make an AI Christmas card from your photo?

Everything starts from one photo: what it needs, what to avoid, and the three steps from upload to download.

  1. Four example photos: a family of four on a sunny porch, a couple on an autumn street, a Bernese puppy on a bed and a silver-haired woman in her sixties at home

    1 photoCard photo

The picture that goes on the card: your whole family, the two of you, just you, or your pet alone or with you. Anyone who isn't in it won't be on the card.

    • Keep space above heads and at the sides: the design frames the photo and may trim its edges.
    • Planning to print? Start from the full-size photo, not a screenshot of it.

Avoid

  • A close family selfie where the frame cuts through heads and the people at both sidesHeads or people cut off at the edges
  • A person as a tiny figure on a distant hilltopFaces too small to see in a far-away shot
  • A selfie under a cartoon filter with cat ears, huge eyes and stickersFilters, stickers or text already on the photo

Questions about AI Christmas cards

Is the AI Christmas card generator free?+

You can try it with free credits: new accounts get 10 credits at sign-up, enough for 3 cards at 1K. After that a card costs 3 credits at 1K, 4 at 2K or 5 at 4K, and the Generate button shows the exact price before you start.

Can I add our names or write my own greeting?+

No. This generator has no text field: each design prints its own greeting and nothing else is written on the card. Add your names when you send it, in your print service's text box, in any photo editor, or in the message that goes with a digital card.

How do I print my AI Christmas card?+

Download the card and upload it to a photo-card print service, or print it at home on card stock. Choose 2K or 4K before you generate if it is going to print, and check the print preview: services trim to their own card size, so a sliver at the edges may go.

Will the greeting be spelled correctly?+

Usually, because each greeting is a short, common phrase, which AI letters far more reliably than names or long messages. A letter can still slip, so before you print, zoom in on the greeting, check every letter and the apostrophe in Season's Greetings, and make sure no extra words or marks appeared. If anything is off, generate the card again.

Is there a Happy Holidays card, not just Merry Christmas?+

Yes. Watercolor wreath prints Happy Holidays, Gold elegant prints Season's Greetings and Snowy window prints Warm Wishes. The designs use winter and festive motifs such as pine, berries, snow and lights, not religious scenes.

Can I make a Christmas card with my dog or cat?+

Yes. Upload your dog or cat on its own or with the family; each pet keeps its breed, coat colors and markings, and the design goes around it. The Vintage postcard and Merry Everything examples above were made from a dog photo.

Can I send it as a digital Christmas card?+

Yes. Download the image and send it by text, email or chat, or post it; choose the 1:1 ratio if it is mainly for social feeds.

Can my kids be on the card?+

Yes. Children can be on the card on their own or with the whole family, and they stay their real age, with natural faces, no makeup and modest festive clothes.
