The ATEEZ BAD challenge is the dance trend from ATEEZ's June 2026 single “BAD”: in the dance break the dancer turns side-on, lays one arm flat across the chest and pops the chest to the beat. It's also called the BAD chest pop challenge, or 에이티즈 BAD 챌린지 in Korean.
That chest pop lasts only a few seconds, and that's why it spread: it is easy to spot, easy to copy and the most replayed moment of the song. Fans call it the killing part, and idols, comedians and athletes have posted their own takes, so the challenge reached well beyond ATEEZ fans.
Cats and dogs are doing the ATEEZ BAD dance because pet owners joined in early. A pet can't pop its chest on its own, so owners first held their cat's paws to the beat; then AI versions stood cats and dogs up on two legs to dance the whole routine, chest pop included.
ATEEZ release “BAD”, the lead single of GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5, with an official “She's so BAD” challenge Short. The album opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
San's side-on chest pop on the SBS Inkigayo stage spreads across X, TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Korea JoongAng Daily soon writes that one move has the algorithm in a chokehold.
Dog owners join in: Seoulxon counts millions of views on #dogdance versions of the routine.
The earliest dated AI version has two cats dance the whole routine, chest pop included, while videos of real cats held up by the paws go viral. allkpop reports the challenge sending BAD back up the charts.
Still spreading through real dancers: a Malaysian dance crew's cover passes 2.2 million TikTok views within days, and a Korean actress dances BAD on Instagram.
Sources: Korea JoongAng Daily, Seoulxon, allkpop and Sports Kyunghyang; the dance crew's view count as shown on TikTok on 24 October 2026.
Timed on the pet version's 25-second clip. The person version keeps the order in 15 seconds: a short build-up, a longer chest pop with a hand on the hip, a few quick steps and claps, then a turn away from the camera to finish.
10:00–0:16The dog bounces low on bent legs, throws both paws up by its ears, turns from side to side and dips low before the drop.
20:16–0:20It turns side-on, lays one front paw flat across its chest and pops the chest on the drum as the camera pushes in.
30:20–0:24The camera pulls back, and the dog turns to face the lens on its hind legs with one paw pointing up.
The clip lends the moves, not the place: the bed, the quilt and the yellow vest stay behind, and the dance happens wherever your photo was taken.

No prompt needed: you add one photo and pick a version, and the moves come from that version's dance clip. To dance your own moves instead, Motion Control sets a photo to any dance clip you upload.
Yes. It's the same BAD challenge people look up in Korean as 에이티즈 BAD AI or BAD 챌린지 AI 만들기 (making the BAD challenge with AI): one photo of a pet or a person goes in, and the full routine with the chest pop comes out.
Yes. The finished video keeps the BAD audio from the version's dance clip, so you can post it as it is. Adding the song from the TikTok or Instagram sound library instead is up to you.
No. It's not official and not affiliated with ATEEZ or KQ Entertainment. Neither dance clip has an ATEEZ member in it, so no member appears in your video.
No. Use a photo of your own pet, yourself or an adult who agreed to it. The template is for your own take on the challenge, not for recreating a real performer.
No, each video is paid with credits. The price depends on the version and the resolution you pick, and the Generate button shows the exact amount before you start. New accounts get 10 credits when they sign up.
The moves come from a small dog dancing on its hind legs, which is a lot to copy onto a pet photographed sitting or lying down, so some runs let your pet drop back onto four legs, bend a paw oddly or soften its markings. Generate again or switch to a sharper whole-body photo (see the photo checklist above); every run comes out a little different.
No. Bad Times is a different song with its own template; this page is ATEEZ's BAD and its chest pop.
