What is the AI dunk trend, and what does “my prime” mean?

The AI dunk trend turns one photo into a video of you dunking: you cross up a defender or drive through a packed arena, throw down a one-handed slam and play it cool for the camera. It is AI dunking basketball for people who have never touched a rim, and My Prime 1v1, the night-court version, is the October 2026 wave.

“My prime” means “me at my peak”. Posting your prime 1v1 is self-mockery: a highlight from a basketball career you never had, shot like a viral streetball moment with the sideline losing it.

The dunk is the other half. Flying over a defender’s back is about the most disrespectful way to score, the dunkers are ordinary people in everyday clothes, and they brush it off as if it happens every night. That gap turns a slam into an AI dunk meme, and it needs no skill at all: no court, no footage, just a photo.

When did the AI dunk trend start?

  1. A one-tap dunk template appears: a crossover on an outdoor court at sunset, then a slow-motion dunk.

  2. The first big wave: a TikTok tutorial on how to dunk with AI passes 1.7 million views.

  3. Arena versions join the outdoor one: a drive through a packed pro arena, a one-handed slam and a roar at the camera.

  4. A real streetball clip captioned “Bro did an emote mid dunk” shows a player flying over a defender on a crowded night court. It passes a million views on TikTok.

  5. A French AI remake titled “Mon prime 1v1 basket” passes a million views, and “my prime 1v1” becomes the name of the night-court version.

My Prime 1v1, shot by shot

The night-court version runs 12 seconds in three shots: the crossover, the slow-motion fly-over and the walk-off.

  1. On a floodlit night court, a woman in a white T-shirt and jeans crosses the ball low past a lunging defender in navy, a crowd with phone lights behind them10:00–0:04

Cross him up under the floodlights

On an outdoor court at night, the crowd packed along the lines with phone lights up, you dribble at the defender, cross the ball low and leave him lunging at air. The camera follows from behind as you drive for the rim.

  2. Low angle under the hoop: the defender bends over with his back to the camera while the woman rises above him, ball cocked behind her head20:04–0:07

    Split-leg fly-over, one-hand slam

He gets back under the rim but folds over at the waist instead of jumping. The camera drops to the floor, and in slow motion you sail over his flat back, legs split wide, and throw it down with one hand.

  3. Close-up of the woman brushing off her shoulder with a straight face while the defender behind her holds his head30:07–0:12

Land, then brush off both shoulders

You land beside the defender, who grabs his head, and walk straight up to the lens. One shoulder, then the other, a straight face and a small shrug: that is the whole celebration.

That is the night 1v1. The pro arena has its own drive, slam and roar. Compare the two courts

Both turn your photo into a basketball dunk AI video. They differ in where you play, how you score and how you finish.

My Prime 1v1

Night streetball, one defender

An outdoor court under floodlights, the crowd packed along the lines with phone lights up. You cross up one defender, fly over his back in slow motion and finish with a shoulder brush. Made for the my prime 1v1 joke: post it as the highlight from a basketball career you never had.

Pro arena

A slam dunk in a packed arena

An indoor arena with every seat taken, referees on the sideline and an opposing team in navy. You drive up the floor, rise past a leaping defender for a one-handed slam, then land, turn to the lens and roar with both fists clenched. Made for the contrast joke: the less someone looks like a player, the harder that roar lands.

FAQ

What people ask about AI dunk videos

What does my prime 1v1 mean?+

“My prime” is “me at my peak”, and a 1v1 is a one-on-one game. Together they name the night-court dunk as a joke throwback: you, one defender and a crowd, in a basketball career that never happened.

Do I need an AI dunking app or a template link?+

No. Everything runs in the browser on this page: add a photo, pick a court and generate. There is no app to install and no template link to hunt down.

Is the AI dunk video free?+

No, each AI dunk video uses credits. New accounts get free credits when they sign up. The price changes with the court and the resolution, and the Generate button shows it before you start.

Is there an AI basketball trend prompt I need to write?+

No. The court, the moves and the camera are already set by the template, so there is nothing to type. You only pick the court and the resolution.

Can I dunk on my friend?+

No. This template takes one photo, for the dunker, and the defender stays the one in the template. A poster dunk over a friend would need a second photo slot, which this page does not have.

Does the 1v1 dunk include the middle finger?+

No. The streetball clip that started the 1v1 wave had a rude gesture in mid-air. This template’s 1v1 ends with a shoulder brush with open hands and a shrug instead.

Does the AI dunk video have sound?+

Yes, it keeps the template’s own live sound. In the 1v1 the crowd noise drops away while the dunker is in the air and comes back as a roar on the slam. In the arena you hear the dribble, sneaker squeaks, the crowd and the roar at the end. There is no music, so add a song when you post if you want one.

Why does my face look different in mid-air?+

The dunk is fast and shot from low angles, so for most of it your face is small and turned away, which is where likeness slips first. The close finish usually looks most like you. If it drifts, try again with a photo that follows the checklist above.

Can I use an NBA player’s photo?+

No. Use a photo of yourself or of an adult who has agreed to it. Photos of NBA players and other celebrities are not for this template.

What should I caption my AI dunk video?+

Play along with the my prime 1v1 joke: “my prime 1v1”, “me in my prime” or “he never stood a chance”. Framing it as a throwback highlight works fine with the AI label on, because the joke is that this career never happened.
