Snow Leopard Mei Mei is a meme picture of a real snow leopard pressing one paw to the glass, edited to give it the huge, round, glossy eyes of Mei Mei, a cat famous online, and posted with a line such as *paws at you* hop online.

Know Your Meme files it as Snow Leopard Paws at You; people also call it Snowmei, the snow leopard meme or Mei Mei snow leopard. A wild cat with a pet’s blank, shiny stare looks cute and a little dazed, and the reaching paw works as a reply to almost anything. On TikTok it became a character of its own, with animations, wallpapers, stickers, redraws and makeup looks.
X user @black03_white03 posts a photo of a snow leopard at Ishikawa Zoo in Japan raising one paw against the glass; it has about 718,000 views.
@harvest_skies posts four of the edited big-eyed pictures on X as “forming a collection”, seen about 160,000 times.
TikTok picks it up: a “snow leopard mei mei” post by @wordyomll reaches about 1.9 million views.
The biggest X posts land: @themeanaest’s “True friendship” passes 930,000 views, and a day later Epic Games posts “*paws at you* hop online” to about 1.93 million views.

*paws at you* is a roleplay action written in asterisks, older chat and furry slang from the same family as *nuzzles*: the leopard reaches through the screen and pats you, and the line after it asks for something. The pattern is the asterisk action plus your request. The video has no text on it, so pick a line below or write your own and add it when you post.

Each still starts from the pet photo under it and shows the look: a spotted snow leopard coat, huge glossy black eyes and one paw pressed to the glass, black pads toward you.

The ragdoll’s dark face mask stays as soft grey shading around the eyes and nose; the rest is the meme’s snow leopard, down to the huge dark eyes and black paw pads.

The Pomeranian’s orange coat comes through as a warm cream tint under the rosettes; the face, ears and huge dark eyes are the meme’s snow leopard.

Your photo is a reference, not the first frame. The result is the meme's snow leopard first: its broad face, rounded ears, spotted coat and huge dark eyes, with your pet's fur colour as a soft tint and its darkest face markings as faint shading. In a close-up behind glass it presses one paw to the pane, pats at you twice, then blinks slowly while its head sways.

Mei Mei, also called Tole Tole Cat, is a cat that went viral in 2023 for huge, round, glossy eyes. The meme gave those eyes to a snow leopard, hence the name. This effect gives your own pet that look; it does not use Mei Mei’s face.
The snow leopard is real: the photo was taken at Ishikawa Zoo in Japan, and Know Your Meme names the leopard Himmel. It is not a Pallas’s cat, as some summaries said. The big eyes were edited in later. Know Your Meme’s entry credits an AI image tool, while its explainer says an AI tool or a simple Photoshop edit, so there is no settled answer.
Yes. Dogs get the same spotted coat, glossy eyes and raised paw as cats do.
No. This effect is made for cats and dogs only, so photos of people are not supported.
No. Each video has one snow leopard, so give each pet its own video.
Partly, on purpose. The result is the meme's big-eyed snow leopard first, so the face, ears, eyes and build are a snow leopard's; your pet shows through as a tint of its fur colour and faint shading where its darkest face markings are. Your photo is a reference, not the first frame, so your room does not appear. One front paw comes up, as in the original picture, though now and then both do. If a run drifts, generate again; a sharp, front-on photo in even light holds up best.
No. Add your caption in TikTok, Instagram or X when you post; the caption list above has lines to start from.
Yes. Open the AI Image Generator with GPT Image 2.5 Flare, upload your pet photo, pick a ratio and paste: “Turn the pet in this photo into the big-eyed snow leopard meme: a real snow leopard's broad face, small rounded ears and whitish-grey fur with black speckles and rosettes, with a soft tint of my pet's fur colour. Huge, perfectly round, glossy dark eyes, almost all pupil. It faces the camera and raises one big fluffy front paw toward the viewer, black paw pads showing. Soft snowy pale-blue background, bright light, no text.”
No. Downloads are MP4 videos, which TikTok, Instagram and X all take.
Yes. A soundtrack is generated with every video; keep it, or swap in a sound when you post.
No, each video costs credits. The price changes with the length and resolution you choose, and the Generate button shows the exact amount first. New accounts get 10 credits when they sign up.
No. Oeneo AI is not affiliated with Mei Mei’s accounts, Ishikawa Zoo or anyone else behind the meme.
